I will be using this blog to highlight my recent uploads. For my daily photo blog, visit Portland Daily Photo.
My most recently uploaded photo was taken back in February 2012. This is a view towards Portland's Old Port from across the harbor in South Portland. I enjoy using my 70-300mm telephoto lens for these types of shots that you can't really see with the naked eye. Being "zoomed in" this close can provide a whole new perspective of a scene.
The weather has been springlike and beautiful lately, so of course I am just getting around to uploading more photos from the most recent winter.
These two photos were taken in the Old Port during "Blizzard Nemo" back in February. Portland received a record-setting (for a single storm) total of 31.9 inches of snow. Luckily my work was closed due to the storm so I was able to capture some of the exciting event in the photos below and many more (of lesser quality) that I posted over at Portland Daily Photo.

Here is a recent photographic addition to the Nature gallery on this site. Taken earlier this evening on the Western Promenade, this yellow daffodil and the setting sun caught my eye. I don't take photos of flowers very often, but I am tempted to capture their beauty every spring.
The two photos uploaded today were taken this morning from the Mill Creek area of South Portland. For the second photo, I was able to leave the shutter open long enough to capture some movement in the water, giving it a sort of smooth look. I have found however that it is tricky to get the most accurate colors with long exposures such as this. I look forward to trying this sort of shot again perhaps during a dramatic sunset or sunrise.

Just a quick post to say that two of my photos (the top two) on the cover of the Portland Downtown District's 2013-2014 Map & Directory. Available at retailers and restaurants throughout the city.
