Sailing Into the Night
This photo, taken from the Maine State Pier, shows a Casco Bay Lines ferry on it's way to Peaks Island on a rainy night. Other than cruise ships and oil tankers, these ferries are the largest vessels that you usually see around the harbor so they are easy targets for photographing. Back Cove Skyline & SunsetThis most recent upload features the Potland skyline (one of my favorite photographic subjects, as you can tell) from across Back Cove. A word of warning to others wanting to get this shot from down in the grass that surrounds the Back Cove, be prepared to be bitten my thousands of pesky little black flies. It's worth it though! Two From MayToday's upload includes two photos from May. The speed with which spring transitions into summer catches me by surprise every year. I'm glad I got both of these photos before summer fully set in. Although I keep up with my daily photo blog year-round, I find that the changing seasons allow me to rediscover the city and it's many photogenic locations each year. Deering Oaks Park Bridge: Pink Tulip Project in Lincoln Park: The FortHere are two new photos that were recently added to the Portland, Maine gallery. Both photos feature the well known Fort Gorges in Casco Bay. I hope to someday explore the inside of the fort and share my photos of the adventure. |
